Information and Support for Parents
Meet Lisa Coyle, school's pastoral care worker
Pastoral care is the provision a school makes to ensure the physical and emotional welfare of pupils. It is the foundation upon which learning can take place.
Our pastoral care extends into every aspect of school life in order to foster pupils’ personal development as much as their academic progress.
Education and health are closely linked, and recent studies have shown that pupils with better mental health and wellbeing are likely to achieve better academically.
Your child already has a Learning Mentor to support them with the day to day issues. I am here to support you as parents. With our school community being spread out over a wide geographical area, its not easy to pop in and see us, but I will be holding coffee and information afternoons, as well as doing some home visits and coming to see what support from school might be helpful. It maybe that together we can work on attendance, or perhaps there are complex health issues and we need to touch base with you, or perhaps just someone to talk to if you feel you are becoming overwhelmed and I can support you with signposting to other places of support too. There is a detailed Support Booklet, with information about many different agencies, available to download here.
I look forward to working with you, and if you have any queries or would like me to visit, please contact school.
Information about parents' coffee and information afternoons will be publicised on Class Dojo and the school Facebook page. Do come and join us!
